Overview

Structure is building an AI-driven platform that lets traders design, backtest, and deploy algorithmic crypto strategies without spending months building the surrounding software stack.

We’re looking for an Algorithmic Trader who thinks in market structure, edge, data, and iteration speed. You may already be trading crypto manually, building strategies in notebooks, running backtests offline, or experimenting with your own execution logic. Maybe you have ideas that work in analysis, but you’re tired of how long it takes to turn them into production-ready systems: data pipelines, backtesting infrastructure, execution, monitoring, risk controls, deployment, and iteration workflows.

This role is for someone who wants to focus on strategy logic and market creativity, not infrastructure plumbing. You’ll work directly with Structure’s founders and product team to design, test, and deploy systematic crypto strategies across venues such as Drift, Hyperliquid, Jupiter, and other on-chain markets. If you prove strong judgment and real edge, this role can grow into building your own desk and taking responsibility for your own P&L.

Key responsibilities

  • Research, design, and iterate on systematic crypto trading strategies across perps, spot, funding-rate arbitrage, basis trades, DeFi yield, market making, CEX/DEX arbitrage, and on-chain market structure.

  • Use Structure’s strategy design and backtesting tools to move from idea to tested strategy to live deployment quickly.

  • Build offline analyses, models, notebooks, or lightweight research workflows to evaluate strategy ideas before bringing them into Structure.

  • Define signals, datasets, parameters, benchmarks, and evaluation criteria for new strategies.

  • Backtest strategies with attention to fees, slippage, liquidity, execution assumptions, and market regime changes.

  • Help validate Structure’s product from the perspective of a serious trader: what makes iteration faster, what blocks deployment, and what a professional strategy workflow needs.

  • Work with engineering and product to improve backtesting, monitoring, risk controls, strategy templates, and deployment workflows.

  • Produce clear research notes, strategy specs, examples, or internal playbooks that help turn trading intuition into repeatable systems.

  • If the fit is strong, grow into owning a trading mandate, managing strategy performance, and building a desk around your strongest ideas.

Qualifications

  • Genuine interest in crypto markets, systematic trading, and automated strategy development.

  • Experience creating, testing, or operating trading strategies, even if personal, academic, or self-directed.

  • Comfortable reasoning from data: backtests, charts, notebooks, spreadsheets, SQL, Python, R, or similar analysis workflows.

  • Strong intuition for risk, liquidity, fees, execution quality, and why backtest results can fail live.

  • Ability to explain a trading idea clearly: the edge, the signal, the market conditions, the risks, and the expected behavior.

  • High agency and curiosity. You should enjoy testing ideas quickly, learning from results, and improving the system.

  • Coding ability is helpful but not required. Structure is designed so strategy development does not depend on being a full-time software engineer.

Nice to have

  • Existing crypto strategies or research you can discuss.

  • Experience with Python, SQL, pandas, notebooks, Dune, or other data analysis tools.

  • Familiarity with Drift, Hyperliquid, Solana, DeFi protocols, perpetual futures, order books, AMMs, or on-chain data.

  • Experience in prop trading, quant research, market making, portfolio construction, HFT, ML, or systematic investing.

  • A track record of taking an idea from analysis to live trading, even at small scale.

  • Strong opinions about what good backtesting, execution, monitoring, and risk tooling should look like.

What we offer

  • A chance to accelerate your career as an algorithmic trader by working directly on live crypto strategy infrastructure.

  • Access to Structure’s strategy design, backtesting, and deployment platform so you can iterate faster than building the full stack yourself.

  • The ability to focus on strategy logic, research, and market edge instead of spending months building infrastructure.

  • Direct collaboration with founders, engineers, and product builders working at the intersection of crypto, AI, backtesting, and automated execution.

  • Opportunity to help shape a product built for traders like you.

  • Competitive compensation, with potential token or equity participation.

  • Remote flexibility, with the option to work in office.

  • For exceptional performers, a path toward building your own desk and taking responsibility for your own P&L.
